Spain is amazingly diverse. Geographically, all of the regions are different. In Andalucia, you could ski in the Sierra Nevada and later the very same day recline on Guadalmansa Playa- Mediterranean beach with a glass of wine. I have personally done this it is definitely one of the wonderful benefits of living on the New Godlen Mile. If you enjoy the mountains, walking/hiking, Sierra Bermeja mountain (1.449m) dominates the landscape surrounding Estepona – New Golden Mile with its impressive presence and providing a micro-climate. Lovers of natural, green open spaces can enjoy walks and excursions discovering places of great beauty. Depending on the time of the year they can find ponds, areas covered in wild flowers, enchanted valleys, peaks with panoramic views over the Mediterranean and endless beautiful landscapes, unique to this privileged region. Culturally, the entire country is littered with superb old buildings, from Roman aqueducts and Islamic palaces to Gothic cathedrals. And almost every second white washed village has a medieval castle or fortress. Marbella old town is 15 minutes away and Estepona old town is 10 mins away both have the own vibrant ports.
Festivals take place year-round and though some are religion-based, they are all colourful, lively and lots of fun. Even the small villages have at least one. Semana Santa – Easter parades happen nationwide, but are biggest in Seville and Malaga. The Ferias occur all Andalucia and the local village ferias are definitely the best, with flamenco dancing in the streets, tapas and fino (sherry) flowing generously. The atmosphere is contagious and vibrant. These festivals generally last about 5 days per village or town, they start in April and continue until October. Nightlife is superb, so diverse. You can enjoy chill out beach bars and clubs to wild and very late nights. The renowned night spots in this area are: Suite night club, Suite del Mar (during the summer months), Olivia Valere’s, Buddha Bar and we must not forget the prestigious Puerto Banus, with its picturesque marina filled with multi-million dollar yachts and destination spot for the rich and famous.
